CCCApply: Common Application For Admission

CCCApply: Common Application for AdmissionCCCApply is the online gateway to the California Community Colleges. Each year at our 114 colleges, more than 2 million students from all over the world build their career skills, prepare for transfer to four-year colleges and universities, or simply enrich their lives through learning.

Beginning in 2001, the CCC Technology Center led the effort to implement a Common Application for Admission, Online Board of Governors (BOG) Fee Waiver, and International Application for Admission.

  • In 2012 a new suite built on the CCC Systemwide Technology Platform was launched, and is now live at 107 colleges, with the remaining colleges in various stages of implementation. To date, more than 5 million online applications have been processed.

  • The BOG Fee Waiver is live at 34 colleges, and 47 more have committed to or are in the process of implementing.

  • The International Application is live at three colleges, with 45 committed to or in process of implementing.

The CCCApply Steering Committee oversees the application suite and determines new features that ensure compliance with state and federal legislation. The Technology Center facilitates meetings, document change requests, change orders, and data dictionaries, and implements features based on the decisions and advice of the committee.

Next Generation

Working with the CCCApply Steering Committee and other stakeholders, the Technology Center will next build the CCCApply applications as configurable forms on a forms engine. This would ensure we could offer multiple languages, responsive mobile interfaces, WCAG 2.0 AA accessibility, and full integration with the CCC MyPath student services portal. A universal functionality approach to the new form engine will enable new systemwide and local college forms to be easily created and deployed to students.
